Okay, so just a few takeaways from the debt limit deal.
One....Biden never should've had to negotiate with hostage takers but at the end of the day, Biden negotiated a deal that kept us from an economic disaster and he didn't give the GOP anywhere near what they were demanding.

1 thing Trump's somehow successfully managed to do is to convince 30% of the country that facts& reality don't matter. Reality goes against what they WANT to believe so they just choose not to. They really buy into the make-believe bullshit he tells them. It's the damnedest thing
Fox News does it too. When reality doesn't jive with their hateful agenda, they just tell their viewers outright lies. And remarkably they believe it.

Trump's speech tonight, which was only shown on CNN for 20 minutes before they broke away, and not shown at all on MSNBC, was a rambling pile of bullshit. He sounded and looked scared shitless but he didn't say one new thing.
It was all the same garbage that he says at all of his hate rallies. The only notable thing was that he again went after all of the prosecutors who are building cases against him and he again went after the judge in the NY case, including attacking the judge's wife and daughter.

It's really rich that Republicans are completely losing their shit over Trump's indictment.
First of all, Republicans have already established that they believe it's a grave offense to lie about an affair. Remember what they did to Bill Clinton?
Second, Trump didn't just cheat on his wife (who had just given birth) with a porn star. He committed a crime- one that Michael Cohen already went to prison for.
Third, that crime would've most certainly altered the outcome of the 2016 election had the country known about it.

Okay Garland. I really am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but come on man. Please tell me that you're on this shit. Tell me that Jack Smith's got this.
Like what about the secret meeting that took place in the Willard war room?
and what's up with the DC pipe bomber?
and how about those secret illegal Capitol tours the week of the insurrection?
and what's up with the Raffensperger call?

Thread on the "Russiagate hoax".....
This week the Columbia Journalism Review published a piece attacking the media for their coverage of "the Russiagate hoax." While there are certainly things we can criticize about the press coverage during the 2016 election, calling Trump's dealings with Russia a "hoax" is wrong.

As much as I love Obama, he made a big mistake in his first two years in office. He was determined to work with the Republicans and tried over and over again to get them to play ball. But at every turn they gave him the finger.
He made many concessions with Obamacare based on what they demanded for their votes. But in the end, not a single one of those assholes voted for it. His desire to work with the GOP is why we don't have single-payer now.

Thread.......This whole mental illness argument about our mass shooting problem in this country is bullshit. I'm sorry, but it is....
Nowhere else on the planet has the mass shooting problem that we have. Do we have more mentally ill people than the rest of the world? No. Do we play more violent video games? No. Violent movies aren't the problem either.

Historically in this country, the party in power suffers from an enthusiasm gap in the midterms. Usually the opposition is far more excited to vote. But more and more I'm feeling like this year will be different. The polling is starting to reflect the Dem enthusiasm.
And the Dems are crushing the GOP in fundraising. Seriously crushing them.

So I was talking to a Republican today and he said, "Everyone knew the Steele dossier was fake. You Liberals had all your hopes on a fake pee tape. I had to inform him of a few things.
Obviously you didn't read the Mueller report. There are some very interesting things in the report, particularly in the footnotes on this subject. For example, compromising videos of Trump actually did exist. (The pee tape)

Hannity tonight
'Hillary's definitely going to jail. Durham is highly respected as a nonpartisan professional& he says that Hillary spied on Trump. She framed our former president. Hillary made up the whole Russia collusion lie to frame Donald Trump for something he never did.'
None of that is true. It's remarkable that Fox News is putting this on the air. First of all, the Mueller report did not clear Trump. It did the opposite. It revealed that his campaign had hundreds of contacts with Russians.

No, Hillary and her campaign didn't frame Trump. They didn't make him a Russian puppet. He did that all on his own. It wasn't Hillary who had hundreds of contacts with Russians. That was the Trump campaign.
It wasn't Hillary who took a meeting with a Russian spy to get dirt on her opponent. That was Don Jr. It wasn't Hillary who turned over secret internal polling data to Russian intelligence. That was Trump's campaign manager

You know what frustrates the living shit out of me? The messaging war. Republicans are very good at getting their bullshit out and making people believe it. The Democrats are considerably worse at this.
I've been watching some of the press coverage in Virginia today. They're interviewing voters about the election tomorrow and most of them are saying they're voting for Youngkin because the Dems are pushing critical race theory.
