OK, one super-easy thing I did last year that almost every student thanked me for in evals was listing an estimated time-to-read (or -watch or whatever) for everything on the syllabus. I know some people don't like that kind of thing, but you can see why a student might.
I was surprised they liked it so much, since they could've gotten estimates (with a word-count calculator) on their own, but I guess seeing it all laid out like that is helpful.
