we have it here in Spain, you need your tax ID to open a bank account, & the bank reports account number back linked to your biometric ID card NIF and TIE, if you get a fine via the post & it never arrives they yank it out your account + extras so now you find bank account has funds missing, and a reference to government took it, this is amount this is reference and this is phone number, phone them they can't divulge over phone GDPR, so now go through loops, more ID and links needed to prove who you are to find out wtf
