So yesterday I went to an oral surgeon to attempt to get some answers about chronic headaches. I got a CT scan and could see my whole skull and brain and stuff - but I learnt something so amazing about brains and how they interpret pain that I had to share (1/n) For years I had been told my jaw/temple pain was to do with clenching my teeth, but there was little of the associated damage you’d see if i was crunching the shit out of my teeth every night. Turns out, my brain is interpreting very small pain signals into great big ones (2/n)

But this is again looking at comms as a purely media and digital focused job, which also only a small part of what’s often described as “communication”. I’ll just walk y’all through a few other things comms teams do, and it’s not an exhaustive list, just a list. Engagement with communities about what’s important to them? Esp in relation to projects in which they have an interest? That’s comms.
