1) When I first moved to FL & heard there was a river called Peace River that starts at the mouth of Charlotte Harbor, south of Tampa Bay. I thought in our meanderings south I'd get to cross it someday. Why the f*ck are we vacationing in little "roll up the carpet at 6 pm" town Lake Wales in the middle of Florida? Well...1) Bok Tower. Bells. They apparently sound very pretty & the grounds are lovely. boktowergardens.org 1/2) The Tower & gardens are on top the highest point above sea level in FL, on Iron Mountain. Part of a ridge that runs through the middle of FL dotted with lakes. Ridge Hwy is one of US Scenic Hwys. ridgescenichighway.com
