I speak to the 🐭 wife a lot about the associate model & the deprofessionalisation of medicine
She was chilling on her comfy chair in the kitchen a few nights ago and said this……
“I always felt lied to. Everyone told me I could be a consultant and have children. We did but wow it was hard and no-one should take that graft and luck for granted”
She said that in the context of associates in so far as someone has sold them a lie, or at least a half truth

I’ve seen this do the rounds a few times and whilst ditching qualifications is bonkers, it’s not quite as simple, or indeed novel, as many might think.

To start at the beginning & for completeness a market is a construct where multiple participants may transact with one another.
To understand a market we have to understand what drives the decision making of said participants & this has very much evolved over the years

Suffice to say this is where a lot of the current anger is coming from and I absolutely support “junior doctors” on this
