We’d like to remind our fellow Valleyites that your right to vote should not be taken lightly. Over recent years, with the “top two” runoff system in use in California, primary elections have become the most important opportunity to make yourself heard.

@nathaliejacoby1 Civics. Also, how to see through logical fallacies & think in a scientific manner. It can be taught in a grade-specific thing. Expose kids in lower grades to America Rock. In later primary grades, have kids look at commercials & have the kids look for logical fallacies in them. @nathaliejacoby1 By Middle School, kids should learn how to do a proper logical argument. There should be debate classes for every kid either in 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grades. They should also have a formal civics class, also in one of the four Middle School grades.

@KimRuxton @marcorubio My father got sick with ALS. After 3 and a half years, my mom was widowed and I was fatherless. Our standard of living began to drop after he got sick, we had a blip upward because of my mom inheriting my father's estate, but that didn't last long. Eventually we were screwed. @KimRuxton @marcorubio We had to sell the house. We never lived in a house again. Eventually my mother also got late stage cancer, and she moved in with her mom, who had survived the same cancer. Both died within two months of each other, because the stress of burying her daughter caused a relapse..

@ericjedelstein I have been fighting for Single Payer (what Canada and Taiwan has) ever since 1992, when I lost my mom to advanced Colorectal cancer. She was working at a group medical office, and the doctors were too cheap to spring for insurance. They said "we'll take care of you." @ericjedelstein Sure as fuck, they took care of her alright. They did basic physicals for her yearly, and noted that she had anemia that was from an unexplained source. They told her to eat more beef and take iron supplements, that it was probably related to menstruation.

If you are a cable cutter with a broadband internet connection, then locast.org should be your best buddy. Basically it's the new incarnation of the Community Antenna TV provider, the predecessor of cable TV. I get more channels more predictably than my antenna. I have problems with something called Multipath Interference where I live. It has to do with the fact that I am basically ringed around with apartment buildings where I live, and broadcast signals tend to get deflected around by all these apartment buildings.

We can stream it, but we would love it in one place. @Viacom @MTV @snowglobe Ever since I started writing about MTV Animation series -- I was the creator of anp.awn.com (no longer on the air) and wrote about many of the great series for that early animation fan website and for Toon Magazine -- I have wanted to see a MTVN Animation channel.

@TwinPeaksRevolu I really would LOVE a dramedy spinoff featuring the Jones family. By dramedy I mean something like #Lodge49 on AMC: a drama about serious subjects but handled with a light tone and with moments of genuine hilarity and at other times black comedy. @TwinPeaksRevolu I attempted to write a fanfic along these lines, but I kind of got boxed in along the way. I should take a fresh shot at this. However, seeing something like this in real life would be great. You kind of wish you could "choose your own adventure" at the end of #TwinPeaks S3.

I refuse to canonize GHW Bush. He was responsible for a lot of pain and suffering. By comparison to his son and the current Resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, he was better. But the caravans out of Central America, that was partially his doing. #ProxyWarInCentralAmerica He campaigned against Ronald Reagan, calling his "free-market" fundamentalism "Voodoo Economics." (it's not truly free-market but that's a tale for another day) And yet, when he became Reagan's running mate, he stopped his reality-based critique of Reaganomics.
