Approximately 40 minutes later the sergeant located the suspect vehicle on Grand River near W. Grand Blvd. The description and registration plate matched the suspect vehicle given by Southfield PD. 2/
Discovered during the search was over a kilo of fentanyl, 85 grams of crack cocaine, one semi-automatic pistol and $4800 in US currency. The kilo of fentanyl had been divided up into doses of .1 grams and packaged separately in lottery ticket folds for individual sale. 2/

One of the drivers then fled the scene of the crash. The other driver had a relative come to the crash and was waiting in their car for a tow truck. The driver that left the crash came back to the scene and fired several rounds into the relatives vehicle. 2/
The at fault driver lost control and side swiped another vehicle. That vehicle was pushed into the rear of the patrol car and then continued and struck a fourth vehicle. 2/
Information received from Redford Township Police indicates that the shirtless male was fleeing from a larceny from a vehicle victim and ran onto the freeway to escape. 2/
At approximately 1:05 AM, the canine unit activated his emergency tone and advised he had just been hit. The trooper advised the suspect vehicle was also in flames. Detroit Fire arrived on scene and began treating the severely injured passengers of the suspect vehicle.
Further information revealed that the suspect cut off the tow truck and the two began road raging. Due to the slow traffic, the tow truck driver got out of his vehicle and began screaming at the suspect.
While sitting stationary (emergency lights activated), another vehicle failed to move over and struck the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle. The driver continued driving from the crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a tow truck driver stated that the suspect driver of a passenger car was unhappy he was in the way and the suspect driver shot out the back window of the tow truck and fled the scene. No reported injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a driver of a Dodge Charger was traveling in the local lanes of I-96 westbound near Southfield. He stated that he was taking the ramp to W I-96 Express after M-39 when his front passenger window was “blown out”.

Troopers are waiting for another livestock trailer to arrive on scene that is responding from Albion. Once the additional semi is on scene, they will cut the trailer open and begin to off load the livestock.
