@HudAbhu@doamuslims This is a philosophical issue. Keep in mind what I think is just my opinion. I don't believe people have free will. Everything in the universe is completely consistent with determinism. 1/n
@HudAbhu@doamuslims We may think people choose the paths and outcomes of their lives, but you will be surprised that its not quite like that. 2/n
@HudAbhu@doamuslims People's actions, what they say, who they are, all are the unguided result of unguided result of series of events, consistent to a evolved universe and its processes. 3/n
While this may be true to some extent, there are observable work ethic issues that could be explained through evolutionary lenses. Before beginning, we have to ask the question, what is the benchmark we are comparing to? 1/n
Do we want to be compared to developed economies in the western hemisphere of the world, where the region is colder and comes with it's own challenges which societies have evolved to adapt to over 100s of years or to tropical countries around the equator with different needs? 2/n
This distinction is very important because it has significant impact on the outcomes of the people that live in those regions after many generations of people living in those areas and the environment it produced. 3/n
The only reason Rilwans killers have not been brought to justice despite the findings of the @DdcomMdv, is it's politically helpful for MDP. What else are we suppose to infer from everything that's happened? You all have a supermajority. Uproot the deepstate first if you must.
Eva, the problem is you let your self be muzzled for political expediency. Remember, you broke it to the public about the existence of a Islamist deep state in the Maldives. You spoke truth early on, but I assume you were silenced promptly to follow the official line.
Your tweet tells me, you are weighed down with guilt as another anniversary of Rilwan’s death comes by, and you are expected to say something about it. So you tweet.
Excepting evolution is so hard for people because it goes straight at the heart of deeply held beliefs around misguided free will, which is inconsistent with determinism.
If the global socialand political opinion zeitgeist shift towards accepting evolutionary understanding of the universe and human societies, our entire structure of the criminal justice system will have to change.
This is because all rational people at that point would find it unacceptable to punish behavioral outcomes of people that could have been vastly different had the variable been different.
Unpopular opinion: people all over the world are genuinely afraid of Islam encroaching on their civil liberties. People are tired of being told criticism of Islam is hateful. People are tired of being given infantalized responses to explain away Islam inspired violence...
...seen all over the world. People are tired of being told they don't understand this ”magical Disney unicorn Islam” where there is peace and love because they can all read the Islamic theological source materials.
The longer this environment continues the more conflicts will emerge and fear makes people volatile in their behaviour and conduct. The language in the OP’s newspaper clipping may appear as ”hateful and xenophobic” towards Muslims...
”Changing behaviour requires clear communication from trusted figures, national and local. Covid-19 is here for a while at least. The vulnerable will be afraid to go out and innovation will slow, creating a 90% economy that fails to reach its potential.” buff.ly/30c0c5z
From and evolutionary perspective, the risks the virus poses and our responses to the risks are adaptation selection pressures. This begins an entirely new alternative trajectory for humans post-covid world as opposed to the seemingly different trajectory we were on pre-covid.
Humans being the resilient species that we are, will find clever ways for us to move forward in spite of the pandemic. And just like AIDS largely changed human sexual behaviour in the ensuing years, so will Covid-19.
I am also excited about advanced weapons training for self defense. I had started basic training early this year. Progress was slow due to musculoskeletal alignment issues. That problem will be solved in Muju 5.0 update coming soon. My weapon of choice: Rokushakubo or Bo staff.
I am going to hold off from sharing videos, as it's still early on in training. But 6 months into it, I can safely weild it knowing what my dimensions are so I don't hurt myself at the very minimum.
There are many reasons why I chose the Bo staff as a weapon of choice. It's essentially learning to weaponize a stick. This is important as an application in the real world.
The Maldives home minister @ShimranAb believes he is possed by a Jinn character from Islamic mythological stories. Here he is performing an Islamic exorcism ritual known as Rugya. All of this is a ridiculous joke.
I was just made aware that this mullah minister was recently accused of sexual misconduct. The problem was never investigated and brushed aside. It's very likely that the recent #metoo conversations in the Maldives has him pretending to be possessed by a ”jinn”.
David Hardingham is a sexual predator who raped Maldivian women when MDP was just starting out. Him is accused of spiking drinks of girls with roofies and then raping them. I am going to leave it at that. For now. David will know better than to come at me.
I had attempted to force an investigation into the matter in the early 2000's and was blocked and obstructed. @Fareesha3 will remember this. I eventually walked away from it, once the victim told me to, after she couldn't handle further escalation.
Well well well. The truth hit home hard! He blocked me. 😂
Your propaganda wont make the democratic country of Taiwan 🇹🇼 just disappear you know that right? Taiwan and Hong Hong is proof that the Chinese people desires democracy. The CCP will eventually have to go. And the Chinese people deserve democracy. The world will not be bullied.
Viva la Chinese Democracy! It may not seem like this is possible. But current global escalations and trajectories give weight to the fact that the CCP will not survive beyond COVID19. Maldives is on the side of human rights and democracy. We will not be bought with money.
I started a new job this week. It's an online job in sales and marketing for an American startup company. So far it's going great. I am currently of the opinion it's the best job I ever had since coming to Canada with the most potential for life-altering income.
The last few years have been really hard as I tried to maintain a stable income and build up savings while working through my PTSD recovery side by side. This doesn't even begin to explain the experience of going through it all.
It was that much harder with my mobility problems when I came to Canada, going through physiotherapy and exercises to rehabilitate my body as I also worked to fix my mind. 3 years later and with much progress, my confidence in my own abilities continue to be restored.
@LogicaIReporter I don't go through the same experience. This marginalized brown person started a service industry retail job first as a refugee. 3 months later, I was team lead, another 3 months later I was manager on duty, another 6 months later I was transferred as assistant manager...
@LogicaIReporter ...to the company's largest outlet and fulfillment center in North America. At the end of 2 years when I left that company, I sold $800,000 worth of product. And I was no longer in lowerest income tier of society. I am never a victim. I am empowered and determined.
@LogicaIReporter I outperformed every single coworker, made relationships with senior staff. In 2 years I conversed with 24,000 potential customers, at the rate of 50 people per day. I worked through understanding people, body language, behavior, iterating and learning.
Everyone appreciates that you care enough about the struggles of women to achieve equality and improve their lives, but when you hijack her label for her struggles towards emancipation, you inadvertently inject male perspectives... 1/n
...in to the conversation. The problem feminism has been trying to solve for many years now is to improve their lived experiences and achieve equality. In a world built by a patriarchial system, us men cant even comprehend the impact this has had on women throughout the ages. 2/n
When a woman clutches her purse a little tighter, or crosses the road quickly when you are the only other person on the same street and you know you are not a rapist or a violent person, understand that this is because of socialized mass PTSD and not about ”you”. 3/n
Today @MohamedNasheed said that he will get justice for all victims of sexual abuse in the Maldives after #Maldives erupted after failed attempts at justice by victims and amid increasing abuse arrests.
@nefrofarou@ibusolih In a democracy, change should reflect the will of the people. If it doesn't, the subsequent government will repeal the changes. The Maldives people have shifted to the left as ibu enabled the media to thrive.
@nefrofarou@ibusolih Especially how expectations changed as press conferences and asking questions became a daily thing. An awakening has since followed in the Makdives with people raising their voices and speaking up. Lockdowns and working from home made this more possible.
@nefrofarou@ibusolih The fact that all major issues raised in the public marketplace of ideas is finding its way into all areas of public like, politics and being tabled in the parliament is change in the process. @ibusolih just have to be a good guardian of this process.
Before everI thought this was a good presser generally, I want to agree with people in my circles and condemn @ibusolih’s repulsive pandering to Islamist by calling us ”irreligious extremists” & ignoring the fact that @RusthumRussso is still in his jail. 2/n
On everything else, I feel as though @ibusolih is pretty solid on policy and approach to governance. I say this in the context of Maldives including the reality of the political environment in the country given how persistent the Islamist deep state in the country is. 3/n
The most recent episode of Patriot Act by @hasanminhaj does an excellent job of explaining Ranked Choice Voting. While the video is in Ameican context, the concepts and principles apply the same even in #Maldives.
Ranked Choice Voting is also the same as Single Transferable Voting, which I have advocated for more than 4 years now. This article explains some of the other names of Ranked Choice Voting like Single Transferable Voting rankedchoicevoting.org/is_ranked_choi…
”I am immune to the effects and outcomes of the modern phenomena known as Cancel Culture.”
This is my bold and daring declaration. Don't agree with me? Feel free to cancel me. My work transcends your petty social behaviour online. Bring it! #SecularMaldives#FikuryInqilab
Do you know why I am so confident in my claim? Because my target audience is not the public. My audience is other activists. Social media accounts being blocked doesn't shut down my mental capacities or the ability to make new account. I am all about the message. #FikuryInqilab
