Lest we forget: there are 4 types of public high/secondary/senior schools in Kenya, namely;
C1: National - admit from whole nation
C2: Extra County - admit 60% from host county, 40% from nation
C3: County - admit from host county only
C4: Sub-county - admit from host sub-county
> So, where is the problem?

I think it was prompted by the policy that locked out principals from the placement process. Politicians, Govt officials, etc were unable to use their influence to get places in "top schools". So they agitated the public, cheating them that>

@ElijahKipteng @mohammedhersi @JohnBien_ In the 70s and 80s, there were many such schools in Mlima region: so-called "Harambee Schools". Cummunities built the schools but didn't have money for teachers and teaching materials. So, they'd lobby govt to take over the schools. Once it becomes a govt school, govt is free... @ElijahKipteng @mohammedhersi @JohnBien_ To bring in children from any part of Kenya. An agreement was reached where 60% of the children will be from the home district and rest from everywhere. Many (not most!) County schools were established this way.

Have you ever wondered where the Voyager 1 spacecraft, which is 24 billion kilometres away from earth, gets electricity from?

It's not solar panels. There's virtually no sunlight where it is.

It's not a battery. No battery can last the 48 years that voyager has lasted. It uses nuclear power. But not the kind we have in our nuclear power stations.
It has a device that converts the heat generated by a decaying radioactive material into electricity.

What if we could do the same for domestic electricity? Then have virtually endless supply!

@WilliamsRuto,
before the reign of Julius Caesar, Roman emperors used to to play around with the calendar in order to extend or reduce the term in office of judges. If a judge was favourable to the emperor, the length of the year would be increased to ensure he served a longer>> duration, albeit the legally prescribed number of years! If the judge was unfavourable, the length of the year would be reduced! By the time Julius Caesar took over, the Roman calendar was horribly out of sync with the seasons. It was useless as a predictor of seasons. >>

The proponents of the #OneManOneShillingOneVote campaign either do not understand mathematics or are deliberately misleading their constituents for personal political gain. They create the false notion that the current revenue sharing formula is based on land are alone!
1/8>>> Here is the correct position.
We are now using the 3rd formula since promulgation of CoK2010. CRA is set to review the sharing formula, hence the current debate. Current formula takes account of the following factors:

Those who claim that Michael Joseph has bankrupted Kenya Airways have no clue what they are talking about.
The person who was CEO when the company died was Titus Naikuni.
He left tattered KQ with Mbuvi Ngunze, who was courageous enough to reveal the mess (remember the 25B loss?) Meanwhile, the KQ management is seeking a sh50B cash injection from govt. From what I've seen in its financial report, this won't be enough, not by a long shot.

For KQ to have a fighting chance, it needs at least sh100B!

Today's entertainment schedule.... "System of Survival" is one of the songs in "Touch the World" (bottom left).

It carries a very apt line for Kenyans at this time: "The biggest unanswered question is 'Where is the money?'. The president is yet to address the issue of money"

I spent all day yesterday at a high school board meeting. Top on the agenda was 2019 financials & 2020 budget.
School has 900 pupils.
School charges exactly sh53,544 per year.
School has above average diet (3 eggs per week, meat 3 times a week etc)

pd.co.ke/news/education… School also spent sh3M on repairs.
Yet, school has sh9M surplus in 2019. Add sh16M saved in previous years and we closed year with sh25M.
Will spend sh23M to build new 300-bed dorm - contractor on site
Sh2M to sink new borehole - waiting NEMA approval
