1/ At #CSP27, 🇲🇾 participated in the side-event on "Women, Peace, and Security, & the Chemical Weapons Convention", moderated by @UK_OPCW with panellists @Jenkinsbd, @OPCW & @EmbaMexNL. 🇲🇾 also co-sponsored a Joint Statement on Gender, coordinated by @IrelandinNL.

@MalaysiaMFA 2/ Gender is cross-cutting issue with direct relevance to the implementation of each aspect of the Chemical Weapons Convention, including in the provision of care and assistance to women affected by chemical
weapons.

1/ H.E. Dato' @NadzirahO , Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the OPCW led the Malaysian delegation to the 27th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CSP-27) in The Hague from 28 November 2022 to 2 December 2022.

@MalaysiaMFA 2/ Twenty-five years since the entry into force of the Convention, Malaysia remains committed to the ultimate goal of the Convention, which is to eliminate chemical weapons worldwide, be it in the form of existing stockpiles, old, abandoned, or new chemical weapons.

Ms. Shifa Kusumaningrum, First Secretary (Political) chaired the Informal Consultation on the Full Implementation of Article XI, in her capacity as the Facilitator of Article XI via online platform today. More than 50 States Parties attended the meeting which among others, discuss the way forward pursuant to the conclusion of the work of the Article XI Drafting Committee and planning on the convening of the annual Article XI Review and Evaluation workshop.
