That was the last case I did and the last verdict which was pronounced by Justice Chandrachud at about 5:30 pm. After that, I never went back to court.

The Chief Justice of India urgently constituted a 3-judge bench at 10:30 am today to discuss a matter of “great public importance” touching upon the “independence of the judiciary”.

Issue - A former junior court assistant has levelled sexual harassment charges against the CJI. In a hearing that lasted short of 30 minutes, the CJI said -

1. He will not “stoop so low” to deny the allegations against him

2. Judiciary is under attack and this is an attempt to dissuade him from hearing imp cases scheduled next week

3. Judiciary is being made a scapegoat

This is ABSOLUTE LIES! I’m appalled at how this has been created out of thin air. I was MYSELF standing and reporting on a story that had NOTHING to do with AMU when the students began to heckle and threaten us. We weren’t even speaking to any student in the vicinity! I was reporting live on air when a person who identifies himself as Azeem Akhtar, Security Officer AMU came forward & asked us to stop. Since I was live on air, I didnt respond to what he was saying. He then got agitated that he was being ignored& began messing with our equipment
