This anecdote reminds me of Guru Raghavendra Swami's Darshana to Thomas Munro.

Sometime in the early 1800s when Thomas Munro was the collector of Bellary, he was ordered to collect the annual tax from Mantralaya. Before he began his task, he wished to know more about the Kshetra
Image He asked around and was told the history of the place & the miracles by Rayaru (Guru Raghavendra). He was intrigued and went to the Matha. Respecting the beliefs' he entered the Matha barefoot & removed his hat.

He was taken to the Brindavana.*

Arun Yogiraj avaru has become a household name now and has earned tremendous Punya by sculpting Ram Lalla. A few snippets of his interview which answers few important questions.

"It was tough even for us, we struggled a lot for 6 months to look for him in the stone."

"So, there has been a calculation made by scientists that the sun's rays will fall upon Rama's forehead on the day of Rama Navami. So they gave us the measurement of 51 inches."

Similar to Surya Deva's paying obeisance to Gangadhareshwara in Gavi Gangadhareshwara, B'luru.

Independence Day coincides with the birthday of one of the most underrated freedom fighter, Dharmik thinker and philosopher & an inspiration to countless revolutionaries - Sri Aurobindo Ghose.

Posting a few quotes of his on Dharma, Desha, Gandhi, Europe amongst others. Image Will we achieve this awakening, or should I say reawakening as imagined by Sri Aurobindo? I hope we do to break our shackles and move forward. Image

Abul A'la Maududi or simply Maulana Maududi was the founder of Jamaat-e-Islami. His writings needs to be widely read by Hindus to understand why Islamists do what they do, esp. given how majority of Islamists are from a Madrasa educated background and in all probability...

1/
... being taught Maududi's works.

Here goes a series of tweets on Maududi's writings from 'Jihad in Islam'; have put them in pictorial form due to its length.

We fought back, accepted all kinds of humiliation just to retain our faith. We survived 1200~ yrs of Islamic rule because our ancestors prayed and hoped that their future generations would reclaims what's rightly ours.

A short thread on what they faced.

1/
When they couldn't live due to the high tax (read: jizya) imposed, Hindus fled to the mountains/forests to survive and keep the flame of faith alive.

Udupi Hijab case.

Translation: They are accusing us of starting the movement and denying muslim girls education, but it was those 6 girls who started it by wearing hijab to class.
If they can follow their religion, why can't we? Yest, we wore saffron scarves and went, ...

1/4 they asked us to remove it, we respected the request and obliged. What if we wouldn't have done it and we 2000 students would have defied them? Would they have closed down the clg?

Today, they girls came and did a strike in Bhandarkar's clg, the prinicipal came and asked...

A lot many from across the country are dumbfounded about the coverage of an actor. He was not just some actor, his family has been cultural icons over the last 5 decades. Despite being born with a golden spoon, he created his own identity.

Thread follows. Being the son of a Kannada film legend, he was introduced to the big screen as a baby - 6 months old. He is perhaps the only superstar of any language yet, whom almost an entire state has seen growing up, as a child artiste to a superstar. He was the boy next door.

It's such a shame that GoK didn't celebrate the Maharaja's birth anniversary with the overenthusiastic zeal they celebrate Tipu Jayanti. No Kannadiga will ever forget the Maharaja's contributions to the state, sometimes at the cost of their personal finances.

1/4 Below are few of Maharaja's contributions to KA and Bharata. He has established or helped in establishment of the following:

> Hydroelectric power project in Sivanasamudra, 1902. This project later helped Bluru get Asia's first streetlights 4 years later.
> Vani Vilas Sagar

How about an anecdote today on why the Desi Cow is very much needed more than ever in rural regions and is helpful to the farmer in more ways than just providing milk, serving draught purpose amongst others?.

1/8 In a small rural, hot and dry town called Koratagere, not very far my village/home in the district of Tumakuru, the farmers distress is woeful. Not only does he have to slog very hard in the sun to make means end, but he seldom gets water too, as the rain Gods show no pity.

Today, I shall tweet a few tweets about Kapila.

In the Mahabharata, it is documented that about 10 varieties of Kapila were there then. Did you know that the Golden cows in the images which you see with Sri Krishna are Kapila's?

1/6 Desi Cows itself are said to be very holy and should be worshipped, but Kapila is said to be the holiest amongst them. Their milk is being used for the Abhisheka of Sri Venkateswara in Tirumala. And their milk and ghee is considered the best for Homa/Yagnas.

Okay.. here we go. The first tweet/series on our Desi Cows will be on Ongole.

Did you know Brazil has an estimate of around 120 m or 12 cr out of a total cattle wealth of 180 m or 18 cr Ongole cows (including hybrids) against a paltry 3.5 million or 35 lakh in India.

1/5 Brazil's livestock contribute to around 7% of the total GDP of Brazil, whose GDP size is around 2~ trillion USD. Thus, Ongole cows play a major role in Brazil's GDP.

This is Pratap who hails from a small village in Karnataka. He is just 22 years old. Last year, during the same period, he had received a gold medal in a science competition in Tokyo. His work is in 'Modular Wireless Sensor Network' for Multiple drones/drone networking. He was interested in becoming a scientist from a very young age, but didn't have the means to. Picking up materials from scrap, he tried to do small scale innovations. Getting inspired by an eagle, he thought of building his own drone for National Security and agri purposes.
