Does this mean CA will see more CA wildflowers? 🌸🧡 linanthus parryae The short answer is YES! The summer monsoon brings up a whole different suite of wildflowers then we see in the spring. I am so incredibly grateful for this California rain, but I am also anticipating the inevitable... The dreaded conversations about the "superbloom". You might be saying, what the heck Naomi, you are a botanist, don't you love superblooms? 🧡 Yes, I LOVE wildflowers intensely. You might even say my world centers on plants. I live to serve them. But I have come to understand why the search for the superbloom is not just an annoyance, but it also makes me deeply sad.
