One year ago, I ran the Boston Marathon after being threatened, harassed, and ultimately kicked out of a club I had worked so hard to build. All for saying this storied race - the most competitive amateur sporting event in the world - should keep the female category for females. I registered for boston when I was 8 months pregnant and in so much pain I could barely run 2 miles let alone 26. But I believe in the strength, tenacity, and power of women (and moms!).

And I wanted this race to reflect that. And so I spoke out with @xx_xyathletics

We did it!!

It was tough out there. I tripped in a pothole and fell at mile 8, and mentally struggled. But I thought of all of you and all of the ladies that didn’t get to be where I was today. I am so proud to have run this race with all of you cheering me on. 2:50:04.
I am so happy to have had the chance to run this race with @xx_xyathletics and all of you behind me. Women are incredible. We are tough, we appreciate the emotions of the experience, and we compete. Thank you thank you thank you.
