[1] A recent article in @thewire_in on the NRC process in Assam made me pen some personal thoughts given the recent move to implement it across India. I am not Assamese but was born and brought up there. My father was an IPS officer of the 64 batch of that state's cadre. #NRC @thewire_in [2] If I still lived in Assam, based on the list of documents required to be 'Indian', I would personally struggle to prove my citizenship and residency. The only document that we may have been able to show is my father's service record.
