People in India talk about Gandhi like he was such a democrat, but he didn't want women to have the vote. After they already had the vote in British India. He thought it would interfere with their roles as wives and mothers. When his female followers were sexually harassed by a man in his ashram in SA, what did he do? He personally cut off the hair of these girls, saying that the beauty of their hair was provocative, and that doing this would 'sterilise the eye' of that man.

Someone asked about the Nagarwala case. In May 1971, a voice on the phone claiming to be Indira Gandhi called a chief cashier in the SBI branch near Parliament and said he had to withdraw 60 lakh/6 million rupees and give it to a courier for a matter of national urgency+ The voice set up a code word too. He was told to take a receipt from the PM’s office later. The cashier did as told. The man who took the money was allegedly Sohrab Nagarwala.

This is an absolutely disgusting clip. Kafeel Khan compares Hindu refugees with servants who stole from their bosses and look for shelter elsewhere. How is this man a hero for some? He also says everyone should get Indian citizenship as borders are artificial and he’s a citizen of the world. Why was India partitioned if the whole world is Indian? Can he get citizenship in Saudi Arabia even today?

Patriarchy is a system of society in which men hold power and women are excluded. Smashing the patriarchy is not beating up fathers. Just so some understand. Women also participate in upholding the patriarchy because there are gains to be had in any system of power if you help the side that actually holds the power. It’s much easier to go along.
