Following new CDC guidance, Governor Cooper has lifted gathering limits and social distancing requirements in all settings and the indoor mask mandate for most settings. Everyone, including people who are fully vaccinated, will still be required to wear masks in certain settings.
Everyone, including people who are fully vaccinated, will still be required to wear masks on public transportation, in health care settings like hospitals, doctor’s offices and nursing homes, and congregate settings like correctional facilities and homeless shelters.

.@NC_Governor: Good afternoon. As of today, NC has 3,651 confirmed cases and sadly our death count now stands at 65 people. I know as we approach a holiday weekend that this loss of life will be even more profound for many, and we are thinking about their families and friends.
@NC_Governor: Today I am signing a new executive order that does 3 important things. First, this order requires new social distancing policies at open stores. This should make shopping safer for everyone and help prevent stores from becoming flashpoints for virus transmission.
