Thursday concluded 5 years @twitter. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such an incredible group of people building the world’s town square for all of our stakeholders. The work isn’t complete, but we made meaningful progress.
I have great hope for @twitter. At its best, it democratizes communication and knowledge, ensuring accountability and equal distribution of info. It’s a huge responsibility for everyone that shares in the work. I wish them strength, wisdom, and foresight.

Today @twitter is opening our offices in SF and NYC. Our hearts go out to any tweeps around the world still unable to come back to an office, but this is a long awaited day for many.
It’s going to be different, both near term with COVID-protocols, and long term. We aren’t asking everyone to return. Ever. We will attract and retain the best people, enabling the most creative and productive work of their careers, whether on their sofa or in an office.

We talked to many with similar goals, and are grateful for @Google, @Netflix, @PayPal, @Square, and others that have announced unique investments and inspired our journey. We talked to nonprofits, investors, banks, and regulators to explore how we could have impact at scale.
