If you are wondering what all the excitement is about with optically pumped magnetometers (OPM), which @WCHN_UCL researchers published in @nature today, a thread: OPMs are 'room temperature' MEG sensors: they require no supercooling (are actually heated by lasers), which means no helium. Helium is a scarce, incredibly expensive resource.
