I was recently asked how one knows when they've advanced from "junior" to "mid-level" network engineer. There's no stone-engraved rules here, but my thoughts follow. 1/10 🧵
Juniors spend most of their time following instructions from others; physical work (unboxing, racking, stacking, inventorying, etc), managing tickets, running scripts, performing data entry, and so forth. 2/10

Short thread on how I bought a used Cisco 3750X on eBay and repaired it at a circuit board level. Please RT if you find it interesting!
The device still had a configuration on it and I could not log in. I looked up the recovery procedures which included pushing the MODE button, as is true on most Catalyst switches.

@yandy_r007 @ThreeFDDI Yandy, you are clearly not a far-right loon, and I'm assuming you don't follow them on Twitter. Nate Crowder and at least 2 others have made direct, clear claims that we have overreacted & that forecasts about death counts were exaggerated (in reality, those are just results).
@yandy_r007 @ThreeFDDI My problem isn't so much with the argument that "we need to get people back to work", but rather some of the justification for it that is quite baseless. Few have read the actual university reports (I have), but every media outlet has spun it somehow. That is dangerous.

1/6: I want to share some uncommon but hopefully useful advice during these trying times, especially for those who are short of cash or may soon be. Growing up, my family was borderline "food insecure" ...
2/6: In college, I developed a simple formula for determining whether a food purchase was "worth it": calories per dollar. I also wanted to eat relatively healthy, so I set my target to at least 100 calories per dollar.

1/8: I was going to do this last week, but family duties took priority. There are many people I'd like to thank for my success with the #DevNetcert exams last week.
2/8: Thanks to @dmfigol for helping me improve my Python skills, and being an honest friend who gave me tough love when I needed it.

1/4 Tomorrow, I end a very difficult experiment. I've always been interested in how other people's opinions influence how we think, behave, etc. Normally, I don't care about these things, but I FORCED myself to pay extra attention.
2/4 I've been spending more time on Twitter "trending" topics and LinkedIn articles, following the various spats. I've deliberately staked myself in the business of strangers. Here's what happened.
