Ayodhya, Mulayam Singh, Police encounters, and Dawood!

Ram Janambhoomi and the Babri demolition has been the central point of India in last 40yrs. Yes it went into back burner between 2004-14 but most of the political events have revolved around it or happened due to it.

But very few people know what happened between 1989 (Rajiv losing elections) and March 1993. So hang on as this is a chronological timeline of THE event of modern India After major failures, Rajiv lost the elections and his massive mandate in 1989. VP Singh, who was Defense Minister In Rajiv’s Govt, got the PM post with a rag tag alliance.

He was forever worried about his post and that led him to enact the Mandal commission report which increased the reservations to 49% in govt jobs.

Mandal commission divided the Hindu community right in middle.

BJP which was finally seeing growth, saw this as a political danger and began a rath yatra in Sep 1990.

Ayodhya, Muslim Personal Law, Rajiv Gandhi, Bofors, Reservations, Rath Yatra, Narendra Modi and Ram Mandir!

A story that will make every single story you know look pale. This is an interesting thread 🧵 so tighten your seat belt.

Lets start from independence because the story really picks steam from here

Babri Masjid was always a structure that drew emotions and British had kept a tight lid on this issue. With British gone and the country still trying to understand what independence is, something interesting happened in Ayodhya.

On the night of 23 Dec 1949, someone kept Ram Lalla’s statue inside the Babri Masjid. Next morning the word spread that Ram Lalla has appeared and people started coming to the masjid to pray.Image Both Hindus and Muslims began to protest and petitions were given to access the structure.

The administration was quick to act and they put a lock - “taala” - on the room with Hindus allowed to do pooja from outside.

The issue slowly died down and life went on.

This still 1984!

So many folks saying we won’t for Modi or we don’t feel like voting for him.

Here are my POV on why Modi deserves another term: RERA

Everyone who has bought real estate pre RERA knows what awaited them. Just ask the SuperTech buyers from Noida.

It is taking one big lobby and absolutely demolishing it

Financial influencers at it again.

Milk - highest producer
Egg - 3rd highest
Meat - 8th highest
Pulses - 1st
Sugarcane - 1st
Cotton - 1st
Bananas - 1st
The list goes on and on!

Reason - ICAR and it’s research which allows the IP to remain in india and available to farmers… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… Subra is personal finance professional. I have followed him for years and his understanding of financial world outside of personal finance is extremely poor.

Him talking to an European agri trader (must be Archer Daniels) is funny and sad at the same time

Since virat Hindus are crying after seeing the engraving on one slab of marble in Ayodhya, a short story of my experience

The year was 1994. Month was April. Dad was transferred from Almora to Bhubaneswar. Instead of taking the train route which involved 3/4 trains, my dad… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… So we had my dad, mom, my sister who was 11 and me who was 9. Our 2nd stop was Lucknow and 4th was expected to be Balia.

Mind you this was before india got decent highways and covering 300kms in a day was an achievement

There are 2 things everyone must understand very very carefully:

1. Temple is built at the fastest possible speed before May’23

Or

2. They take all the time in this beautiful world to get the temple ready risking the results of 2024 and a potential stay by the next govt I understand everyone is an art lover and they would want nothing less than a temple that has whole ramayan engraved on every wall with every slab of marble outdoing the previous one. Of course.

But can we be real for once?

Let’s talk about the espionage, Himalayas, and a radioactive material that vanished!

The year was 1965. China had just gone nuclear and Cold War was at its absolute peak. US was no worried of nuclear facility in erstwhile Tibet.
China had tested its N bomb in Xinjiang province Image And US wanted to monitor this region to ensure there aren’t any new tests. Nanda Devi peak at 26k ft was the perfect spot. So CIA and Indian IB along with Indian army got into a top secret mission -

A LONG thread on 1980s and how India burnt to only rise like a Phoenix

1980s was easily the most instrumental decade for india and in this thread I will touch the main events leading to 1992 (Babri)

Off the bat, I was born in 1985 so all this is just from stories I read/heard 1970s ended at a low point for india. It started with 1971 war but by the end of it, we had emergency, a coalition govt and indira back with a vengeance

1980s started by the death of Sanjay Gandhi - an event that would certainly change India’s future - for good and for bad!

I am in india after a gap of 4.5yrs and what I am seeing makes me wonder how India is absolutely living in another planet right now. A few observations

Disc - I have met only few people and seen only 3 cities so major assumptions in these views 1. Optimism

There is real optimism for the future. From salaries to infra to personal success to overall growth, people do seem optimistic about thing.

This is vastly different from what is happening in western world right now.

Till now Virat has missed an run out and got Axar run out.

Trying his best for his fans across the border He will score a painful 50 and his fans will sing praises till the next defeat against Pak.

It is amazing how he never takes the pressure during a Pak match

This thread is for the fans of Indian cricket team. Also why I feel completely lost when watching cricket now.

The year was 2001. Indian cricket was in tatters- match fixing scandal had rocked the Indian cricket recently and there was major distrust within the team (1/n) Amidst this, the captaincy was with Ganguly. Tendulkar was in form (as always) and Dravid was the only other constant in the team. Then came the tour of Australia- the all conquering Aussies were visiting india with an unbeaten test streak of 15 tests. (2/n)

The year was 2017. It was an India Pakistan ICC championship trophy finals. Bumrah got Zanjan’s wicket and it was overruled because Boom had overstepped. India went onto to lose the match in a spectacular fashion. Everyone made fun of boom. Some were angry. Some were just memes. Jaipur traffic police even got a billboard on it. This is how Indian cricketers are trolled.

Ashdeep dropped a simple catch and trolling him isn’t a crime. Trolling and being angry at Indian players isn’t about religious undertone.

Indian IT sector. Why india won’t turn into the next SL or BD! A small thread!

First of all, Indian Tech Sector is still heavily based on the outsourcing model with start ups being very new (will touch start ups too in this thread) (1/n) Unfortunately, Indian IT sector is massively criticized for being coolie maker or body shop. Both the branding are massively incorrect and shows the class difference at its crudest! (2/n)

Rewatched the whole Ozark series. At the core of it, the story isn’t about money laundering or cartel. It is about two families - Brydes and Langmores. Both the families are similar in more than one, just Brydes always came out alive of a situation and Langmores always took a hit It is just insane level of direction and writing that grips the series. You want to side with Marty knowing that he is good at heart however you know, with every passing episode, that Marty’s arrival in Ozark is killing Langmores one after the another
