I wasn't planning to write a Barbie thread because there is so much similar attention on similar aspects of the film, but I'm bored so I'll summarize my thoughts anyway. Thread on this sublime feminist tragedy: (1/82) On the most shallow surface level, there is of course the joyless Ben Shapiro takeaway: it is a very overtly feminist political screed, hateful, anti-human, against male existence as object, against female existence as subject, unconcealed bitter solipsistic sexual narcissism.
