Since you asked, assuming I wouldn't have an answer:
Baleen whales, (The filter-feeding ones) have multiple unique biological qualities that are either irreducibly complex and/or have no way of mapping into the "evolutionary family tree" 🧵— In order to filter feed, there are multiple biological mechanisms that need to exist in order for the whale to feed properly. Inability to do this means the whale would starve and die more or less immediately.

Said before & will say again Europe is in a much better situation demographically speaking. The main problem they will need to overcome is entrenched gentocracy and the strangling of young human capital through large welfare states & fiat currency. America has two advantages (with a big FOR NOW...), if you are good at making money, you keep more of your wealth & can direct it into more meaningful channels. It also has the advantage of white Evangelicals being some of the most defiant groups to ever exist.

I am trying to minimize the attention given to this account but this constant "Why God mean & Jesus nice" is such an easily avoided take derived from lack of thought. You just had to not zone out while the Jesus storybook Bible was being read to them as a child : Image For an incredibly simple summary, God lays out the consequences of sin, the old covenant, & the coming new covenant within the first chapters of Genesis. As you go through the old Testament, God reminds his people through the prophets of his promises.

Learn to be an active consumer — 🧵

Some media/activities can be done regardless of the amount of effort input. This is what I define as passive consumption.

The inverse is active consumption, the media/activity is dependent on the effort expended. TV, Movies, Podcasts: This is all passive consumption. You press play once, and then it continues regardless of your effort or attention.

Books, articles, board games: This is active consumption. Nothing happens in these mediums if you are not devoting attention or effort.

The evangelical establishment, for lack of a better term, has ceded all political action out of a desire to "preserve" the "authentic spirituality" of evangelicalism. They see the imposing of Christ's will on believers & unbelievers alike as "not how we are to be Christians." 🧵 But in ceding this, who shall rule instead? Satan & those who worship man & his depravity. Their collective unwillingness to shepherd the nation condemns our nation & children to the most sick, twisted visions of suffering that will be wrought by evil.

A lot of you guys in this sphere are getting introduced to RFK Jr. for the first time. You're probably wondering why everyone's keyed up about it. Some quick questions answered and a summary of relevant achievements:🧵 "What's up with his voice?"
He has spasmodic dysphonia, a condition which causes the larynx muscles to spasm involuntarily. It's painless, but means clearly speaking requires more effort. He has had the condition since 2001.

I have extensive Austrian school background. I'm probably one of few people who can say they were born into it. They aren't stupid. It's strong cohesive theory.

However, their theories have a fatal flaw. A system of high individual autonomy requires... ...prerequisites. Let's just say Denmark is more primed for a stateless society than Somalia.

But to the Austrian's credit, things went from bad to less bad Somalia when the government dissolved, mainly because African governments are so dysfunctional the situation improves in their absence.

RFK in his space is just describing things he loved about nature as a child that simply don't exist anymore & it's honestly one of the saddest things a presidential candidate has said in a long time. "There aren't as many butterflies, salamanders, and puddles full of tadpoles anymore" is the most profound thing any official candidate has said in years

Most of your qualms with greedy high time-preference in the private sector are a direct result of dysfunctional governance.

Private entities don't have the privilege of force, so they base their behavior around said governance. In antiquity, when currency & governance were stable, companies would be comfortable with very low time-preference ventures. Look at the East India Company, several American Colonies, etc.

Such behavior is no longer possible in the private sector.

This woman's life is changed forever. Imagine being the white woman surrounded by these "people" as they stomp on you, hooting and hollering, relishing in your pain, fear, even the possibility of hurting you or taking your life.

This was a completely optional crime. When I say optional, hear me: This is not the inevitability of living in a big city, America, take your pick of whatever. This was 100% avoidable, but since the solution is socially unacceptable, a woman was curb stomped by a group of men with no possibility of justice.

I would honestly call you a crueler person if you support continuing an incentive structure that selects for poverty and starvation.

If the countries become functional, the foreign aid money stops flowing in. So why fix an incredibly profitable problem? Africa has received 50+ Marshall plans in aid during the entirety of the US foreign aid program. What African politician wants to stop that & no longer just embezzle the funds for himself? Which of course he is rewarded for, because everyone in his population is still starving.

So I finished "Machete Season"

Figured since some of you won't take the time to read (but you should) I'll provide what I found to the most important takeaways — Image • It was the fastest, most efficient genocide in history. If it had gone as long as the holocaust, it would have killed 12,000,000+ people.
• Most of the perpetrators were completely ordinary people. Farmers.
• The vast majority of the killing was done with machetes. Intimate.

Midwits love Harry Potter because it basically is how they understand the world

Outside of the midwit's bubble which they know how to operate, things just "happen" & their effective way of understanding it is that wizards experts cast spells for civilizations different functions There's no supply chains in the fantasy world of Harry Potter, and spells manipulating money/food are just hardwired out by Rowling because she still wanted to maintain a comparable reality when fundamentally it doesn't have the same restrictions

Wizards can just "fix things"

Libertarians seething about Trump calling for death to drug dealers might want to take a minute to reflect on why this rhetoric resonates so deeply with Americans. For many Americans, drugs are proxy weapons deployed by state-sanctioned criminals used to destroy communities & loved ones, causing generations of dysfunction. Is it any surprise people want the drug dealers, the people on the ground who deal out this pain, to die?

CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION
—HOW TO RESIST THE DRAFT—
If you have been following the situation, it’s very clear the Russo-Ukrainian conflict will not de-escalate. The threat of the US entering a full-fledged war in 2023 is real. Reinstatement of the draft is a real possibility.🧵 …Naturally, I assume many of my anons are draftable, but also have no intention to fight or die in a pointless war. There aren’t many ways to avoid this if you're healthy or a dependent, but there is an option: Conscientious Objection.

You like Silly Songs with Larry? "The Water Buffalo Song" sets the benchmark for debut work, and really defined my taste. But when "The Hairbrush Song" came out in '95, I think Larry really came into his own, commercially and artistically. Each single has a unique, funny sound, and a new glimmer of optimistic absurdism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Phineas and Ferb, but I think Larry has a far more goofy, wacky sense of humor.

Had an excellent conversation irl with a cath. Talking about why animosity between prots & caths. He didn't understand because of the same background. Evolved into a discussion regarding doctrine, which he didn't initially see the importance of—🧵 —but this is where most if not of all of the "hostility" is generated via prots. "But that's not Catholics!" not the point. If one identifies as Cath, one is expected to abide by cath doctrine, which has a mutually exclusive understanding of the means of salvation vs. prots
