Continuing with Mortal Kombat's 30th anniversary celebration. This video gives a peek into how Sonya Blade came to be, including her infamous LEG GRAB move. On April 10, 1992 we tested an unfinished version of MK (only 6 fighters) at a Chicago arcade called TIMES SQUARE. (1 of 9)
Its crazy seeing that first arcade test footage now, 30 years later. The test went great, but it was clear the game needed another fighter. So we went back to work, designing, capturing & programming the moves for Mortal Kombat’s 7th fighter, Lieutenant Sonya Blade.

Here is our 3rd video celebrating Mortal Kombat’s 30th anniversary! (More to come!) This is more of a fun video that features behind-the-scenes of us filming one of MK’s most recognizable characters. Raiden was played by a FANTASTIC martial artist and friend, Carlos Pesina.
As amazing as Carlos is, there were some unexpected challenges that came up involving one of MK's most iconic costume pieces…. Raiden's hat. More specifically Raiden’s hat and the laws of physics.

Mortal Kombat will be 30 years old in 2022. But 2021 marks 30 years since we actually BEGAN working on the game. To celebrate, it seemed like a fun idea to share some behind-the-scenes stuff. This clip shows how we created Scorpion’s iconic (GET OVER HERE!) spear move. (1 of 9)
We certainly did a ton of prep for our video shoots, but some ideas came to us while filming. With Scorpion’s spear, it started with “You know what would be a cool ass move?”. From there you can be a fly on the wall and see us working through the details. (2/9)
