I’m the senior author of the JID review on outdoor transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory viruses, and I’d like to clarify a reported number. @MonicaGandhi9 @DLeonhardt
academic.oup.com/jid/article/22… The first sentence of our abstract states that a low proportion of reported global transmissions occur outdoors. Our review did not allow for us to quantify the amount of SARS-CoV-2 transmission occurring outdoors, nor did we state that 10% of transmissions occur outdoors.

I'm the author of academic.oup.com/jid/article/22…. Our abstract likely should have read: "at the very most, 10% of all cases…, and it is likely even lower than that.” @MonicaGandhi9 Our main point: People should spend time outdoors to enjoy nature and be active. Being outdoors is essentially the best ventilation one could ever imagine, as particles have the space to infinitely dilute, disperse, and eventually essentially disappear. forbes.com/sites/cassidyr…
