The number of colleagues who previous but now refuse to say it to me increases each year.
Asked why they made the effort not to after previously saying it and they were quite open in their explanation “we aren’t supposed to do it”
I take no offense and have never.
Even had a MBA classmate threaten to have a fatwa issued against me for replying to the Salam.

Last week around 9am my 8 year old smelt burning odour from the room adjacent to where he was.
He alerted me.
While I hunted it we sensed it was an electrical issue.
Instantly he ran and informed the other family members.
While I traced it. The rest of them were able to power off all the major appliances and pulled them out of the sockets.
Major disaster averted.

It's just a formality now..
Went to a financial institute today 3 guards making a commendable effort to restrict nmbrs inside & to keep the SOP definded space b/w customers
Outside a queue of 20 literally a palm's distance apart at best waiting to get in refusing to stand apart
These were clearly educated folk & moneyed. The guards were struggling to keep the numbers inside the branch to the minimum. People kept shoving to get in...
Remember this is a nation that avoid using seatbelts and helmets as much as they can..

Personal view point : Sindh will report larger numbers for a while to come and has thus far for one main reason. They are actively screening and tracing possible victims. The large number of flights to Karachi are and added burden.
Punjab reporting Zero 3 weeks into the first case in Pakistan is a mystery. The virus clearly knows no borders.
This thread is to sift thru specualtion and fact as far as what is publicly known.
Folk a lot of rumours in circulation on impact zone and cause of leak etc.
Here is what is known as of now.
- 2 consecutive evenings gas spread and has left 10 dead and over 400 plus treated. A majority discharged. A small percentage remain critical.
- the ground zero is area near the oil terminals. Some may know the area as the point where you get on the boats for crabbing.

Story time on the criminal neglect of the Fire Brigade in #Karachi and equally horrendous civic sense of its citizens. This is my story.
It's around 9PM on a weekday at a mutlistorey residential complex in Clifton when our apartment starts smelling of burnt rubber. The family quickly moves around the house to investigate and realise it's not from inside the apartment.

Thot about doing a thread on growing up and living as a minority in PK since the 70s. Its been a mixed bag a lot of hate, some love and much indifference. Even a separate electorate till 2000s that many today dont know about. In the end its my home too & hard not to forget that.
