Mauritian football is bonkers.
From players wearing different kits in a game and a sordid case of voyeurism โฆ to #Mauritius now on the verge of being suspended by FIFA.
This is the badshit crazy world of the Mauritius Football Association ๐งต
Mauritius Football Association (MFA) is football's governing body.
In 2013 its president was accused of match fixing. He went on gardening leave but denied wrongdoing.
Incredibly, he threatened to keep attending international meetings. Maybe he enjoyed the free flights?

The UK is on the verge of decolonising #Mauritius completely.
It has signalled that it would return the #Chagos Islands to Mauritius in a few months.
But Chagos houses a massive American military base. So how real will the decolonisation actually be?

4 scenarios:
1. UK hands the Chagos back cleanly and lets Mauritius decide how to proceed wrt the American base.
A clean relinquishing of its claim to Chagos aligns with international law.
The UK and international law lol. So perhaps this scenario is unlikely.

๐ Many smaller, gorgeous islands (+ huge maritime territory) scattered all over the Indian Ocean form part of Mauritius.

(๐ Some have been appropriated by superpowers to build military bases.)
Diego Garcia. It now houses a major US military base.
Illegally annexed by the British from Mauritian territory 50+ years ago, and its inhabitants were evicted.
The UK still refuses to completely decolonise Mauritius despite the UN ruling in favour of Mauritian sovereignty.
