One of the things I wonder is: what is the relationship to change and claim accuracy? If something *seems* bad - and by all accounts CC is happening to bad ends - and ppl are bad at nuance - CC ⬆️ but resilience⬆️ too - then how valuable is precision when describin threat? 1/ Obviously good scientists desire and demand accuracy. It’s laudable and cornerstone of endeavor. But wrt sci-comm I wonder whether nuance is inversely related to urgency! Idk people have low trust and maybe lack of precision makes it worse but if trust is already low…2/

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.11… we benefited from the input of colleagues, very patient reviewers, and an @AJPS_Editor editorial team that was very clear about how to give the manuscript its best shot. publishing is a lottery at some threshold, and seeing this in first view feels like holding a winning ticket.

The fact that only like 50% of professional golfers are vaccinated (per a PGA estimate) speaks volumes about the political leanings of that sport. the 2008 fin crash was complicated bc the entire system had hands dirty. any time issue is complex and there is no live easy villain, accountability is hard. but #gme is simpler: evil hedge fund overleverages, td-ameritrade and robinhood manipulate market. shooo strap in yall. like lmao have you ever watched the big short w other ppl? its just not a straightforward story. short-selling, naked calls are complex, sure, but the over-arching (artificial!) narrative here is not difficult to grasp. i suspect that means someone gonna get done dirty.
