FACTS:

1.) Zelensky’s support is in the mid-40s (higher than Trump’s).

More popular than most European 🇪🇺 or US 🇺🇸 leaders!!

This is despite the fact that 63% believe the war will take one year or more!

❗️Russia has blocked all access to Telegram across the Russian Federation 🇷🇺.

Putin fears the truth as much as he fears his own people. He is a coward who knows the tides are turning against his regime. ⚡️ ⚡️ 🇷🇺RUSSIA’S ALLIES: During the middle of the night Saturday, China🇨🇳 told citizens to leave🇺🇦. Kazakhstan is closing🇺🇦 embassy.

Kyrgyzstan🇰🇬, Uzbekistan🇺🇿, Turkmenistan🇹🇲, and Serbia🇷🇸 already have told citizens to go.

Tajikistan🇹🇯 and Belarussian🇧🇾 websites don’t work. Someone sent me Tajikistan’s 🇹🇯 announcement saying that citizens should avoid Ukraine🇺🇦.

The most important are the Chinese🇨🇳 and Kazakhstan🇰🇿 announcements. They’re the most important to Russia 🇷🇺. The rest could be normal internal consular affairs recommendations for the war.

Putin calling for a (rare) speech, then postponing it, is really odd.

The exciting possibility would be tensions inside of the Kremlin.

The more probable reason is that aspects of what was to be announced (e.g. dates, quantities, etc.) had not yet been defined.

1/3 However, I see that Putin is having troubles balancing those who are hyper-hawkish, hardliners, who want extremism (full mobilization, nukes, etc.).

Versus those who are seeking a less rigid solution to salvage Russia.

Recent Russian history isn't good for hardliners.

Kadyrov today announced that his “time had come” and that he would take a “indefinite and long" break.

Putin, who installed Kadyrov to subdue Chechnya, would’ve been the one to make this decision.

THREAD: 1/2 Kadyrov’s troops in Ukraine 🇺🇦 are known for committing mass rape, torture, and filming Tik Tok videos of doing little to actually help Russia 🇷🇺.

Putin’s 🇷🇺 motorcade rushed to the Kremlin late tonight (Moscow time). Odd for him to show up so late. Usually it means something serious is cooking. Rushing him there is likely something unexpected that can’t wait for his decision. Last time was June 25/26.

If it’s military: More likely defensive (not offensive).

Though we may never learn why he went there, be sure the 70 year old isn’t joy riding past his bedtime.

My friend, Ilya Ponomarev 🇷🇺 @iponomarev , announced that an armed anti-Putin org, the National Republican Army (NRA), was responsible for yesterday’s assassination of D Dugin.

All over Russian 🇷🇺 social media that Putin’s too ideological adviser, Alexander Dugin’s, daughter’s car just exploded. She died at the scene.

Dugan is a fascist psycho. IMPORTANT: Russian TG channels say Dugin was supposed to be behind the wheel of the car which exploded, but changed places with his daughter at the last moment. (He was the target, nor her).

The speed at which this spread on 🇷🇺 internet, even past 2am Moscow time, is very odd.

One of the most haunting images imaginable: 🇷🇺 military box trucks, sitting 130m from the reactor of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

There’s no logical explanation why they’re there.

That they might contain explosives to detonate the reactor is entirely possible. The photo gives me the eerie feeling of sinisterness. As if it’s a photo that history will not forget.
