🧵We hear a lot from LCMS clerics about how the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod no longer partners with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (DBA Global Refuge).

If that were true, the Atlantic District would not be passing resolutions 83% to 17% about partnering with them. Image

Harrison all but admitted that the real reason the LCMS no longer partners with LIRS is that LIRS outgrew Lutheranism.

At the same time, he tried to spin it that the LCMS pulled out of LIRS because the ELCA took organizations away from Biblical sexuality. Image

This is absurdly wrong. 🧵

The woke — not woke divide is not over collectivism ("woke") vs. Enlightenment individualism ("not woke")

It is over Enlightenment egalitarianism (woke) vs. God and nature-ordained hierarchy (not woke). The Left (woke) assumes one of two things must be true:

A. Everyone starts out with the same innate psycho-social potential

B. Innate psycho-social potential varies person-to-person, but is randomized at the individual level with no larger predictable input from heritability

🚨 Be warned: salacious text in the QT

But if you can steel yourself, there's a valuable lesson to be learned. Move on from there to the following:

*Blessed Martin Luther on dealing with sexual temptation*

1/12 Image Original sin is not a quiescent thing, but a kind of continuous motion or entelechy, producing its own effects. It is not a quiescent quality, but a restless evil which labors day and night, even in those who sleep. We see it in nocturnal defilements.

🧵 The dating of years has always overwhelmingly been based upon the reign of the king, hence "in the fifth year of the reign of King Chad".

This was necessarily regional, since human kings have limits to their territory. In fact, the earliest appearances of the term "Common Era" are instances where the writer sought to make a distinction between their regional calendar (marked by the reign of their current king) and the universal, or "common to all", calendar, Anno Domini.

🧵 This former board chair of Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (and specifically LCMS representative on the Board of Directors) has gone on record that LSSNCA had LCMS approval for its immigration and foster care programs.

Let's look at what those entail. Image Foster care first. Do I understand this correctly that the LCMS approves of inviting and encouraging members of "the LGBTQIA+ community" to foster children?

I'm just reading what the man wrote. Image

.@GenFlynn is correct. Links below to my threads about this.

Of the 3 that the Gen mentions:

LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES OF THE SOUTH, INC: LCMS RSO
LUTHERAN SERVICES FLORIDA, INC.: LCMS RSO

I've had people asking:

Yes, that is an Indian flag. Naumann was a missionary in Sri Lanka until LCMS Corp. effectively sh*tcanned him, completely without cause. If 98% of overseas missions are astorge-fueled grift mills, Naumann is of the 2% that do it right.

He started a seminary in Sri Lanka and ran it like a colonial governor. No slacking on assignments, codes of conduct, curfews, the works.

You can see why men in purple hate him. Image

The leaven of papistic ecclesiasts has spread far and wide.

They do not believe that the Word of God is living and active, or that it is strong to accomplish its holy purposes, unless it comes through them.

The fountain in the Rock is pure. But they are contaminating wells. Not all papists are Roman Catholic. The heady drug of "sic volo, sic iubeo" has ensnared many a man of the cloth. First it tantalizes, then it consumes.

🚨"A blessed hatred and hostility, which proceeds from love"

Martin Luther's comments on Psalm 26

🧵

Beginning with the text of v. 5, which reads "I hate the company of the evildoers, and I do not sit with the wicked."

1/16 Image "I am hostile to them, and I want nothing to do with the evildoers. From my heart I mean what my mouth is saying. I turn away from them with my heart, for one should have nothing to do with the evildoers and the wicked, as the psalm says . . .

Getting tired of you LCMS stanning ankle biters wellackshuallying in my mentions.

Brief 🧵on how, yes, the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod still partners with LIRS/Global Refuge. If you do the homework and look through these LCMS Registered Service Organizations, you will find, as I have, that most of them are LIRS subcontractors.

The LCMS plays a shell game to keep you from seeing the connection, but there it is. Image

Rowling is Schiller's Kunigund, and the knight Delorges is all out of patience. Men's indifference to women's lack of protection is the inevitable result of women's indifference to men's desire to provide that protection in the first place.

🧵Let me explain something to those of you whose judgement has been anesthetized by Midwestern Niceness and the "best construction means dismissing my instincts with prejudice" doctrine that clerics have groomed into you for the last few generations. 1/ Image What you are seeing in the above image is flirting.

Reject your conditioned response to dismiss this obvious fact because the man is a pastor. If you saw this image in any other context you would immediately apprehend what is happening. 2/

State of the LCMS, folks Image No woman "would be" an excellent pastor. This is like saying that a man "would be" a great mother, but gosh darn it, he's just so pious and obedient, he doesn't dare go there.

Sheer idiocy. Women are in fact *ontologically incapable* of being pastors.

Here's a prime example of one of these slogans:

"theology/theologian of glory/the cross" This construct comes from Thesis 21 of Luther's theological theses from the 1518 Heidelberg Disputation:

"A theology of glory calls evil good and good evil. A theology of the cross calls the thing what it actually is."

(Luther also presented philosophical theses. Inconvenient!)

Race as a category is an extension of the category of family, and exists with it on a continuum with intermediates like clan and tribe. It is a derivative of the concept of consanguinity. 🧵 Consanguinity denotes 1) proximate common descent, and 2) shared observable traits as reflective of shared allele constellations, as a result of 1.

Trinity 19 is a great day in the old Church calendar. Every Sunday is, but this one merits particular mention today.

1. Friends & followers of the Old Lutheran Synod account are encouraged to listen to the audio of Dr. Luther's Epistle sermon for today: oldluth.com/2023/10/17/the… 2. We also encourage you to read Nils Jakob Laache's homily on today's Gospel:

We are given something to believe: "Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee."

And we are given something to do: "put off . . . the old man . . .; put on the new man."oldluth.com/2024/10/05/bfp…
