While PM Modi found time to wish PV Narasimha Rao (former Prime Minister from opposition party) on his birth anniversary, Rahul Gandhi didn't even find it necessary to pay tributes to the only good Prime Minister his party has produced in 7 decades.
The treatment meted out to Narasimha Rao over the years by his own party remains the the most shameful chapters in Indian Political history. He was denied even basic human dignity in death. The Congress is very desperate to erase his name and legacy.
In Half Lion, a biography of Rao, author Vinay Sitapati, a Princetonian scholar, narrates the events that unfolded following the death of the former prime minister whose body wasn’t allowed to enter the Congress headquarters in Delhi.
Today is the Finale of his Magnum Opus,The Ramayan Series. In these tough times, the retelecast has provided us with the optimism one needs.Generations will be grateful to Ramanand ji for bringing our scriptures & rich history to our homes
Ramanand Sagar had thought of making the Ramayana as early as the 1940s. He had also begun conceptualising the idea back in 1975 itself. But every time, at Doordarshan or Government, someone or the other pulled the plug. Imagine the ecosystem he was against to make the classic.
@arungovil12@swwapniljoshi Even after immence pressure from the press, politicians and the bureaucracy to shut down the show for its religious element he never gave up. That shows his devotion to this project and Lord Ram.He made sure that he created a masterpiece even with limited resources.
1990s: A time when kids playing in the crowded gullies & dusty grounds of India carved a God out of human. The results of the game were inconsequential. Only thing that mattered was “Sachin ne kitne banaye?"
Sachin was the first product of economically liberalised India. He became the only icon of a generation of young Indians with humble beginnings who wanted to unshackle themselves of the perceived limitations of past generations and assert themselves as the new achievers.
Sachin became the symbol of a new self confident India that made efforts to break through and earn it’s place & respect in the world. He also became the games first and only global icon.
Meme Thread: Why todays Repo rate, CRR cuts are important.
Let’s suppose that a bank recieves Rs. 100 worth of deposits. The RBI asks the banks to give about Rs. 25 (CRR+SLR) of the deposit to them. This Rs. 25 acts as a guarantee of sorts in case the bank collapses.
The banks can lend out the remaining Rs. 75 to its customers. Now,the banks figures out that there is still some demand for loans. It’s out of money though. So the bank asks the RBI to lend some money. RBI says OK.The RBI can never run out of money to lend, unlike the banks.
But RBI wants the money back. RBI tells that banks that on given date in the future, you will repurchase your agreement from me at principal plus 4.4%(new repo rate) interest per annum and I will repurchase my government bonds from you at 4.00% ( new reverse repo rate) per annum.
The ShivarajBhushan (The Ornament of Shivaji) by Mahakavi Bhushan Tripathi is a of nearly four hundred Brijbhasha poems written at the court of Shivaji Maharaj. It was composed for the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Indian media has ignored this big news. Only @Swamy39 has highlighted this from the BJP.
Justice Emma Arbaughnott in UK, "Indian banks had grossly violated their own rules and regulations in lending to Vijay Mallya's airline company Kingfisher. "
This can be seen 'with closed eyes' she stated. The above remarks were with reference to the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister Chidambaram ordering the loan to Mallya, despite the bank's objection.
Judge Emma Arbathanot of London’s Westminster Magistrate Court had also said that the whole thing as a grooving puzzle, in which a huge task would be to create evidence by adding all events and evidences together. I am sure if this happens all the big names will come out.
