@DucksForDuckGod There is good and bad in the history of the United States, and the flag carries that struggle forward, so there is yet a perceived voice in the flag for those who died to end human captivity in the U.S., to uphold workers' rights and principles of equality.
@DucksForDuckGod This is why American fascists are so eager to replace the American flag with their fascist "thin blue line" flag: America's history actually contains the struggles and victories of those among us who have sacrificed for equality. They reject all of that.
@faineg They will begin wars on top of wars to kill more of us.
@faineg They will seek to turn this earth into our humiliating gulag.

@RashidaTlaib@aaronnarraph Expand legislatures to include all residents. Do it city by city. That's how you dissolve the corporate-caretaker system. You eliminate money in politics, political parties, lobbyists, the middle men. Just shoe someone in and hold referenda.
@RashidaTlaib@aaronnarraph If progressives were serious, that's what they would do . . . but why wait? 🤷♂️
Our government is a television series built on a plot with tapered credibility that appears to never end. At first it was interesting, but we increasingly question why we began watching it.
Our government is "Lost."

@StereoRooster@mehdirhasan "Civilized" if it means, "not indigenous." Christianity was a syncretic communistic society that emphasized a total separation from the past. It called for the abolition of the institution of marriage to emphasize either free love or celibacy. It was a form of Nature worship.
@StereoRooster@mehdirhasan Jesus called for a giving economy within a family unit of one that encompasses all of humanity. "It takes a village to raise a child." Early Christianity takes this aphorism to the extreme: no closed doors.

I agree, @gabehudson.

@TurtlesongFarm@ClimateHuman I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this isn't the 1960s and the concerns of protesters in 2020 have been broadly neglected at the congressional level at every turn on both sides of the aisle. Americans protested in 1893 to no avail. Then they starved for three years.

@ClimateHuman If we're going to engage in civil disobedience, we'll need heavy organization, and ideally, cooperation from governments, and most will probably be hostile to us. I favor an insurgent electoral strategy. Cut out the middle men and institute a real democracy.
@ClimateHuman I question the net positive result of civil disobedience, tho its efficacy is not without precedent, and not without just criticism.

@ahatanhel Don't confuse @jacobin with the "Western Left." "The Western Left" is a marketing term that's being used to denigrate the Left by targeting paid internet trolls and leather armchair socialists who pose as leftists.
@ahatanhel@jacobin There is an actual historical definition of "the Left" that I've been forced to repeat on this infernal platform ad nauseum.
@RonFilipkowski@TuckerCarlson, I challenge you to bare knuckle boxing match. Name the time and place. No bets. We just keep fighting until I turn your face into a shit stain on the pavement. We have to shake on it first, tho.
@RonFilipkowski@TuckerCarlson We'll have to make it into an MMA style street fight because most of my training has been in the streets of Chicago and there are no rules here.

It's possible @ninaturner may be just another sell out.
@Angela_Biochem@DelthiaRicks Science brought us the nuclear bomb, man-made global ecological catastrophe, a world where we can't do anything without downloading a brainwashing app, video games for burning away the hours, the gun, the automobile, built-in obsolescence, erasure of the means of production, etc.
@Angela_Biochem@DelthiaRicks Science also brought us science sell outs like @DrLeanaWen, science racists and sociopaths, or eugenecists, those who regard us as no more than fodder, most of the tech bro culture, monetization of the burning of trees and creation of waste, the monetization of debt, etc.

@charlescwcooke The entire field of finance and economics is adults playing make believe.
@charlescwcooke Debts can be canceled with a wave of a hand. This was regular practice in antiquity. We call it, jubilee.

@ddayen@TheDemocrats are consistently coordinating to move right with their political posture and this has been going on for so many decades, German conservative parties are now to the left of the Democratic Party.
@ddayen@TheDemocrats If you wanted to vote for a Democratic ticket in Germany, you would have to vote for the German Libertarian party: the Free Democrats. Collectively, these fake democrats are burying the historical meaning of democracy under a [neo-]Liberal trash heap.

"Recent variants like Omicron and Delta are several times more transmissible than the strain that first spread around the globe in early 2020. That’s a huge increase, and makes SARS-CoV-2 more contagious than many other human respiratory viruses." nytimes.com/interactive/20…
"Taking all this together, we expect SARS-CoV-2 will continue to cause new epidemics, but they will increasingly be driven by the ability to skirt around the immune system." nytimes.com/interactive/20…
@DrLeanaWen@DrLeanaWen Eugenecists like you, @DrLeanaWen, are well positioned to profit from your collaboration with the Ruling American Establishment. You're a useful tool for entrenched wealth. The corporate sector will shower you with riches.
Your soul, however, is totally fucked.

@DmytroKuleba Do they have a draft in Russia?
@DmytroKuleba Just saying, it's unlikely the Russian people form a single uninterrupted, uniform fabric of opinion.
