If you're fat, they'll hate you for being a slob and making them feel bad about themselves. If you get in shape, they'll resent that too. If you're rich, if you're poor, if you're a leftist or a rightist. Mostly, for internal reasons.

Protests in isolation were never an effective political tool. Rather, they provided a fulcrum for the lever of 20th century propaganda (journalists interviewing Authority Figures,) with which to move policy. What happened is that the lever rotted out and broke.
The way it worked is that there would be a protest, and it would be covered on the news. Important people would explain what it actually meant. This would turn into legislation or other political action.

It's very fashionable to make fun of the soft sciences like sociology, psychology, anthropology and art studies. But what the usaid scandal reveals is that the applied soft sciences are exactly how the US global Empire works.

Went to the funeral of a young man in Jerusalem yesterday. He fell in Gaza, leaving behind six siblings and a young wife. Thousands of people came to his funeral to pay their respects. A religious man, he'd worked hard to join a combat unit, then to go to Gaza in the reserves.
Thousands of people stood in the cold in silence for two hours and listened as his close ones eulogized him and talked about what he meant to them and what a void his death left in their lives, how they couldn't imagine themselves living without him.

Tbh, women serve the key role of birthing and raising the next generation. Banal, but true.
Western women of the 50s-70s found themselves gifted with a bunch of conveniences to "save time". What they did with the saved time was to work bs jobs and entertain themselves.
Freed from the million obligations which had made up the fabric of normal human existence, they instantly lost all vital survival skills (like cooking, sewing, etc.)
