I finally took the first step in uploading my brain online.

Connected all my high-signal thinking from the past six years in the form of blogs, podcasts, videos, essays and open-questions under one roof.

My brainforest is now live.

Here's how you can do it too 🧵 I first started by bringing all my content in one roof (and in one format = markdown)

For twitter threads, I used @threadreaderapp to unroll them in this format.

For other formates: medium essays, website blogs, youtube videos etc, it was quite straightforward.

We THINK all the time. But yet, we seldom 'think about our thinking'.

What if there was a way to assemble our thinking similar to LEGO blocks?

Enter the interesting world of - Algorithms of Thought. Image Before we get into Algorithms of Thought, we need to dive into the business innovation commonly called as 'Standard Operating Procedures' - A cornerstone of any large-scale business.

A sequence of elaborate steps of the form X-Y-Z is just standardised and replicated throughout.

We have a host-parasite relationship with memes.

We want what other people want, because other people WANT it.

How we can steer clear from this contagion?

Enter the world of anti-memetic thinking.

A thread. Image Before we start, let's talk a bit about memes.

Rene Girard, a french social theorist first coined this term after observing the human propensity to mimic people around them.

He noticed how we unconsciously adopt others desires as our own. Image

Janus is a Roman God with two faces, each looking in the opposite direction.

What's common between Janus and world class strategists such as Steve Jobs, Vincent Van Gogh and Picasso?

A thread. Image Janusian Thinking involves accommodating two or more incompatible ideas at the same time.

Similar to how the Roman god having two faces in the opposite directions.

Such as being both liberal/conservative or vegan/carnivore at the same time.

It's to be at peace with paradoxes.

I've been doomscrolling a lot on Twitter, Instagram, and Linkedin.

This has affected my mental health a lot perpetuating two key human fears: FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and FOBO (Fear of Being Ordinary) 2/n The Web 2.0 has been consciously designed this way.

The time has long passed when we used to use the internet to 'search' for something. Now it is all 'social'. The media corp literally comes home and delivers an all-you-can-eat-buffet.

The feed comes to you.

What's life but a series of projects?

Here's the master thread on some of my best works :) 1. Assistive device for deaf and blind runners

We designed an assistive device for deaf and blind persons to run safely and for longer distances.

Here is a peak into the design process we followed. Image Usher Syndrome affects nearly 10,000 people worldwide in the form of acquired deaf-blindness.

Imagine losing your senses gradually. How would that feel?

For some of the Ushers, their vision gets clouded similar to the gradient I have overlayed on top of this image. Image

I stayed in a tribal village in India for a year teaching children leadership skills through design thinking.

Here's a story behind my non-profit initiative and how we've impacted 1200+ children from 3 rural areas (also a short segway in which I was chased by a man-eating tiger) Image Can children lead the frontier of social innovation?

We expect kids to do kids-related work, but what if they stepped up as leaders and gave back to their community?

This was the guiding question behind this social initiative. Image

We designed and launched a healthcare device in the middle of a pandemic across hospitals in south India

Here's a thread giving you a peek into the design process we followed, Image There has been a rising need for the disinfection of confined spaces.

This, however, has become a harder problem to solve in crowded environments such as lifts which are found to be more contaminated than in even toilet surfaces. Image

I am going to live-tweet the recently released book 'Future of Text' by @liquidizer

// THREAD 'Text is still not so accessible. We write in columns, import illustrations from elsewhere and have severe restrictions in how we connect'.

Linking information from various sources and yet there is little metadata left in the final PDF version which gets exported.
