I have seen and received many messages of support this weekend. I appreciate them all. 🧡I have also heard many people say terrible things to rationalize the death of these children. I have also heard many people express distress & shock at the news. 1/14
I hope your distress motivates you to learn more. You should be distressed. But if you’ve been listening you shouldn’t be shocked. I have seen people this weekend call for inquiries and Royal commissions and reports. We’ve done that. It’s time for people to listen & learn. 2/14

After hours spent on the curriculum, we finally submitted all our feedback via the survey. I will save you the 3 pg letter that we have now also sent our MLA & cc'd the Minister of Education, and a number of members of the opposition. But we did ask a number of questions... 1/6
We asked for replies back to us on the following: 1. How the government plans to take the feedback from Albertans and move forward to improve the draft curriculum?

Holiday Monday. Just took a deep dive (hours) into all 52 pages of the draft K-6 social studies curriculum. 137 PDF sticky notes later I have some thoughts. The highlights; a thread. 1/10
The curriculum is deeply ideological. Religion aside (let’s save that for another thread), it is staunchly capitalist. Brief mention of collectivism of various Indigenous societies. Mentions societies “developing” not extracting natural resources 2/10
