Today at 1:30 @MCHDPIO is presenting to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors its strategy for implementing CA's Covid-19 vaccination plan. I read through the document this morning. Here's my take. 1/ When I heard last night we would hear a presentation on vaccinations, I thought it would be more detailed, as in specific names of sites, organizations and individuals that would be involved. It turns out this is in fact a "strategy," and not a specific plan.2/

I was honored to spend time on the phone with Sigrid Stokes, a Pacific Grove nurse in her 70s who is working the frontlines vaccinating people against Covid-19. Sigrid's mother volunteered during the Spanish flu pandemic. read the story! mailchi.mp/mcweekly/2021-… Stokes was a journalism major before she got a nursing degree. She was careful about spelling names and wanted to make sure I was accurate. I was nervous I'd flub something but was relieved when she sent an email this morning saying she appreciated how "ACCURATE" I was. #phew
