I’ve obviously been thinking a lot about the loss last night. Kyle Shanahan had an abysmal game both tactically and management wise. He didn’t adjust to the Rams’ plan to defend the run and his game management was just as bad as McVay’s. He had time on his side and gave it away.
Most of Shanahan’s mistakes were about time and field position. He punted three times on the Rams’ side of the field. THREE. The decision to take a delay of game penalty after McVay’s stupid challenge was the icing on the cake. Kyle took the penalty and then punted. WHY?

Ian Desmond is a baseball hero. You have to be pretty courageous to call out the whole “play the game the right way” thing as a white baseball culture construct. I also commend his decision partly because he feels a real responsibility to teach his kids and build community.
Desmond is forfeiting millions of dollars to protect his health, but also because his desire to make the world better has grown over the last few months. He decided his role as a global citizen outweighs that of professional baseball player. I respect the hell out of that.

I am going to write some tweets about the MLB statement since this combines two things that I care deeply about: social justice and baseball. I will try my best to make them coherent so bear with me.
The first and most obvious thing is the timing of the statement is unacceptable. It is unacceptable for its sheer tardiness, but also because MLB consciously decided to negotiate the opening of their season through the media and failed to acknowledge the country burning.

I haven't done a filmmaking thread in a while and since I tweeted out a couple thoughts a few minutes ago, I thought I would discuss my process for shot building. As always, if you're not interested feel free to mute me.
And just to be clear, I'm a screenwriter as well. I know how hard writing a script is. I wasn't trying to downplay people's work. I've read a lot of scripts and seen a lot of movies. The movies are almost always better than the scripts including my own.

So while I continue to push this feature script for financing, I'm starting to develop another one. I haven't been at this stage in the process in a long time so it's like I'm starting a whole new approach to development.
It's crazy how much more stuff I know now as opposed to when I started the first one. I was at NYU when I began it, but it's crazy how little I knew. Wow. I'm curious to see how this process is going to go now compared to the first time.
