#Navratri #DurgaPuja
First the author herself cleverly admits, Navratri and Durga Puja happen around same time and the focus is on same divinity Durga Maa.
(And this is obvious because both terms Navratri & Durga apuja are synonymously used by Hindus)

Just around the same day Onam is celebrated in Kerala, Vaman Dwadashi is celebrated by Hindus in different parts of India.
In North India's Kuru region, Bawan Dwadashi (or Vamana Dwadashi )is celebrated in Patiala-Ambala-Nahan region and is known for its special fair.
This festival is recorded in documents pertaining to British rule. For eg. Travellers’ Companion by Abdul Rashid published in 1907 mentions about the fair held on this festival which was the largest and most important fair of (Ambala) district, attended by 20,000-25,000 devotees.

Navratri traditions in Amritsar #Punjab
Every year during Shardiye Navratri, the local Hindus of #Amritsar celebrate #Navratri by dressing their children like Hanumanji and pay their obeisance at Bada Hanuman Mandir at #DurgianaMandir complex.
Every year around 5000 boys would dress as Hanumanji for around 10 days till #Dussehra
Children, who dress up as Hanumanji and their parents, have to follow a strict regime by following all rules that sworn celibates or #Brahmcharis do during the Navratri period
