Queensland Chief Health Officer, Dr John Gerrard, has co-authored an observational study on Long Covid which purports to find that people are no more likely to have ongoing symptoms after COVID than after the flu. Is it true? Let's look at the facts...🧵 The author's 2023 study selected 19,758 people who had tested positive via PCR for either COVID or Flu during the period 12-25 June 2022. About 1/3 of them couldn't be contacted via text message, leaving 12,932, of which 26% consented, giving a sample size of 3,420.
