Thread about covid in India:
Firstly thanks again to all who responded so kindly to my tweets about folk from our community in India dying of Covid. Of the 7, I only knew 2 well. The others I knew more distantly through close mutual friends. It brings home how dire it is now
2) the 7 who have died are the tip of a very large iceberg. There are many more currently struggling with covid and their families also.
I heard from someone who works in a big public hospital in Pune. There is only space for 1 in 4 covid cases to be admitted

THREAD: Ok, let’s see if I got this right. In 🏴 the sqa system downgrades exam results. Teachers and pupils are distraught and protest. Although there was already in existence a FREE appeal process the @scotgov take seriously the concerns and look more closely 1/5
They decide that it probably wasn’t the best system and the @ScotGovFM stands up and publicly acknowledges this, speaking directly to the young people affected. The education minister @JohnSwinney acknowledges, apologises and rectifies it in a way that seems to work for most 2/5
