The reason I don't celebrate Christmas is primarily because I'm not a Christian. But then people ask, "What's the harm in celebrating one more festival?"

Native Americans (most of them) don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Do you know why? Because to them it's a symbol of their persecution & colonization. Christmas is a similar deal to me.

I have no interest in celebrating the festival of those carrying out mass conversions of Hindus--to say nothing of the past. Most Christians in India, even though they enjoy freedom of every kind, will not spare any occasion to disrespect Hindu culture and/or to promote their own religion. None of this is conducive to me feeling "festive" about Christmas.

But if you're not a Hindu-hating Christian, Merry Christmas to you. Also, I like to live a quiet life. The worst, loudest & stupidest parties of the year happen on Christmas, where none of the partying people are actually Christian or even know a thing about Christmas or Christianity beyond "jingle bells". I don't know how humanity descended into this level of stupidity but it's looking irreversible now.
