This is worth your time. 👇🏾

I would love to see this question posed to youth in the Twin Cities. “We requested that each student create their own $790 million budget. Once finished, the teens got into breakout groups, fashioned after the Atlanta City Council, debated their priorities, explained their reasons, and came up with one budget representing everyone.”

I’m sorry but, I get super annoyed when I see investigations that literally regurgitate what we’ve been saying. Tell me something I don’t know, geez. We’re way past the point of validation. It’s insulting. We’ve been telling them these VERY same findings forrrr freeeeeeeeeee. For yeaaaaaarrrrs.

I kind of wonder if they’re pissed about the military’s use of sonar. From 2002:

“For decades, marine mammal scientists have suspected that sonar pings produced by military ships may have played a role in a half-dozen unusual strandings of beaked whales, toothy marine mammals that often feed deep in the ocean.”

Showing up to the vigil was disrespectful. They understood how triggering their presence would be for many in the space and wanted to depict themselves as “measured leaders” taking “the heat” of the community’s response to their presence. A calculated photo-op for the news. It was absolutely insidious. Through and through.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara and former chief Medaria Arrodondo attended the candlelight vigil at George Floyd Square in an effort to reclaim the intersection on behalf of the City of Minneapolis Testing the waters.

Hey…does anyone know what happened to the person who was stabbed by the white supremacist during the protest in 2020 near the 3rd precinct? One of the employees at the photo place asked me after seeing my photos. He was there too when it happened. He asked me if I knew what happened to person and I’d been wondering the same. He said he heard from 2 people that the person didn’t make it?

I would argue that the white liberal has *not* been victimized with some of the same ambivalence but are inheritors of the same ambivalence of any other non-liberal white
person. This is white America. White liberals are key perpetrators of the ambivalence. To this day, when white people are challenged and feel uncomfortable by the demands of Black people, the next question is often some variation of if we really want people to join “your” movement. If you feel it is our responsibility to convince you, therein lies the problem.

Reading, Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community? by Martin Luther King Jr. will have you thinking he was reflecting on the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder. “When Negroes looked for the second phase, the realization of equality, they found that many of their white allies had quietly disappeared.”

We stopped on this route up... One the most beautiful things I had ever seen in my life! I would never go up that road again but it was worth it when we did!

I would argue that Target conceding to transphobic bigots is more dangerous than deciding to keep LGBTQ+ merchandise off their shelves and racks. & none of these individuals that I’m aware of were arrested? But Target sent a Black woman to jail for damaging property last year? “The woman was booked into the Dakota County Jail on probable cause Felony Criminal Damage to Property and misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct charges.  She was being held on $30,000 bail.”

Reader, it was my tweets.

“You expressed concern regarding a situation with your neighbor where they felt that they were being discriminated against. Our social media team attempted to respond in order to gather more information, but were unable to reach you via Twitter.” They couldn’t reach me on here because I blocked Huntington months ago.

There is no other explanation but this tweet for why Huntington Bank is now reaching out me months after they discriminated against me and lied and told me they’d send me an explanation for why they forcibly closed my bank account, claiming fraud. They must’ve seen this. Why should I speak to corporate now?

& when you’re a child, they reduce your pain and abuse to being a “rebellious teen.” & then when they learn more, they say “I didn’t know it was that bad,” & “I was confused,” admitting that they never took you seriously. People don’t value the truth telling that children do. I’m maybe this is why I’m attentive to what children have to say. I remember being that child and being ignored. And how much it still hurts. And how insulted I feel by grown adults who now feign shock when they had every opportunity under the sun to intervene.

Having worked in shelters, it is a huge deal when we’re able to get someone who’s been needing serious medical care for their illness(es) and injury/injuries. What they’re wearing is the very least of our worries. Some of them stopped going to receive medical care for very valid reasons. How they were treated simply for not having a home or the type of medical insurance they have. Discrimination.

“Not enough is being done to hold teen offenders accountable for their actions in Minneapolis, Police Chief Brian O'Hara said Monday during a community meeting on crime in south Minneapolis.”

Can a journalist ask the chief how they define accountability?

fox9.com/news/minneapol… We can’t keep using these words without asking for clarification how one define words such as a accountability. We’re not all using the same shared language.

I can even begin to tell you the amount of stories I’ve heard from unhoused people who’ve experienced hate crimes. It’s just so frustrating to see the lack of self reflection coming from city officials who’ve participated in the displacement of poor and unhoused people. This has to be intentional.

That’s really bold of you to say when you were the mayor that introduced Target’s Safety City program that geo-restricted poor and unhoused people from downtown Minneapolis in order to get rid of the “ick factor.” Very bold of you sir, when you too have engaged in violence. Where were you when one of your cops told a Black youth he would kill them like they killed Trayvon Martin?

“They came and walked up on us and said they’ll ‘Trayvon Martin our little Black asses.’ His exact words.”
