Hi @FourSeasons. I just wanted to ask you if it's true that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh lives at the Four Seasons hotel in Doha, Qatar.

If it is true, do you worry about your brand reputation?

cc: @billgates, majority owner This was from 2015:

"We are unable to respond to any enquiries about people who may or may not be staying at the hotel."

It's hard to get to the bottom of this. A lot of people have been telling me that Haniyeh is at the Four Seasons, which is why I genuinely want to know. Did he move to a villa? Does Hamas still use the facilities of the Four Seasons? Where is Khaled spending most of his time?

Hamas is a genocidal terrorist organization.

See for yourself โ€“ and please share the truth widely.

I am a tour guide and educator in Israel. I will try to answer this question as simply as possible.

My way of answering this question is different from many of my friends and colleagues.

Here goes: ๐Ÿงตโฌ‡๏ธ Many people hate Jews.

For millennia, Christians hated Jews. Christians said that Jews murdered God (Jesus) and that every Jew was responsible.

Matthew 27:25 quotes Jews saying of Jesus: "His blood be on us and on our children!"

Remember this photo?

It's been ten years since I published it on the @IDF's Facebook page. It went viral.

I'll tell you how it happened, who was responsible, and how the media covered the story.

This is a thread about fact and fiction in the social media age.

๐Ÿงตโฌ‡๏ธ On June 11, 2012, a soldier in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit named Edan came to me with an excited look on his face.

He showed me the photo.

"What do you think?" he asked me.

I knew right away: This is great content.

I replied: "I'll write the text for the Facebook post."

It's been ten years since I joined the @IDF Spokesperson's Unit.

Until now, I've said very little about my service.

It's time to tell some stories, correct the historical record, and publish a portfolio of my work.

This is a thread about war and social media.

๐Ÿงตโฌ‡๏ธ My role in the @IDF: managing editor, English social media platforms.

The year is 2012.

For most of the year, nothing dramatic happened on our social media.

That would soon change.

Attention foreign diplomats in Israel: We appreciate your condemnations of terror attacks. But as far as I can tell, not one of you has condemned Palestinian leaders for repeating the "Al-Aqsa is in danger" lie that inspires these attacks. If you want to help, please start there. Mention Al-Aqsa. You can do it.

Some underreported information about Raโ€™ad Hazem, the Palestinian terrorist who opened fire at a bar in Tel Aviv on April 7 and murdered three people. A thread โฌ‡๏ธ Hazem was a criminal from the Jenin "refugee camp" in the northern West Bank. I write "refugee camp" in quotes because the people there are neither refugees nor are they living in a camp. It's a neglected part of town. I suspect many people there knew Hazem was up to no good. I've seen lots of commentary about Israel's decision to label six Palestinian NGOs as terrorist groups. I was disappointed (but not surprised) by the non-existent Israeli public diplomacy effort. I wasn't well versed on the issue. I finally took the time to do some reading. ๐Ÿงตโฌ‡๏ธ On October 22, 2021, the Israeli Ministry of Defense declared that six Palestinian NGOs are terrorist organizations. The ministry said the six NGOs are an undercover network that operates on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. That's a serious charge.

This is the Guardian's obituary of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It says RBG was brought up Jewish but "abandoned her religion." That is something you'd write if โ€“ I'm being kind here โ€“ you don't know anything about Jews and also don't know anything about how to search on google dot com. It's repeated in the obit: "Clinton was anxious to make the supreme court more diverse, so Ginsburgโ€™s Jewish religion, which she had given up 46 years earlier, may have counted for more than a lifetime of commitment to womenโ€™s equality before the law." theguardian.com/us-news/2020/sโ€ฆ

Hey remember when the Arab Leage demanded that Israel withdraw from the Golan, the Old City of Jerusalem, the West Bank & allow millions of Palestinians to turn Israel into Palestine in exchange for normal relations โ€“ and Very Smart People said this โ€œofferโ€ was an opportunity? This thread is a lesson on the importance of precise questions.

JAKE TAPPER: "Do you think the Jewish people have the right to a state in the area where Israel exists now?"

REP. RASHIDA TLAIB: "Look, I truly believe the state of Israel exists, correct, but..." At the end of the interview, @jaketapper asks again:

JAKE TAPPER: "Yes or no, does Israel have a right to exist?"

REP. RASHIDA TLAIB: "Oh, of course! But just like Palestinians have a right to exist."

Your paragraph that starts "There were, however, signs that Hamas might be softening its opposition to two states" is... wow. Tendentious is the word. Hamas offered Israel vague words in exchange for a full Israeli retreat, and your reaction is "Israel could have embraced this." You noted that Zahar offered a truce if Israel withdraws from 100% of land taken in 1967, as if this was a sign of moderation. How many times does he have to say that any Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 borders is just a phase? Please give me a number. memri.org/tv/hamas-leadeโ€ฆ
