Taking the opportunity to reflect on the personal backstory & progression of @helenvuongphd + lab’s discovery of a role for the maternal microbiota in regulating axon development in the fetal brain. nature.com/articles/s4158… rdcu.be/b7B5O
My first 🧵:
When I joined the Patterson lab @Caltech as a grad student, Liming Wang & Natalia Malkova had just established a mouse model to study epidemiological links between maternal infection and increased risk for schizophrenia & autism (very fringe at the time!) jneurosci.org/content/23/1/2…

Been stuck at home feeling isolated so my sigfig and I made this project management tool for my lab to help us connect and keep science moving. 👍 from lab members so far. Put together a website in case others are interested. We named it Kanobo. 👩🏻🔬 kanobo.com
All features are described in the docs, but if there's enough interest I could prob set up a demo of how our lab is using it so far. Also welcome any and all feedback on how we can improve and if there are other tools that work for you.
