1. AMC Trap (Annual Maintenance Contract)

This is the #1 pain point. Most brands sell you a low-cost device, but then trap you into high-cost servicing. AMC charges often go from ₹4K–₹7K/year — which means you’re effectively leasing the purifier.

🧠 Pro tip: Always ask filter life (in litres) and cost of each replacement. That’s where the trap lies

2. Water Wastage in RO Systems

For every 1L of purified water, 2-3L is wasted. In apartments, this goes unnoticed. But it’s an ecological disaster.

3. TDS Confusion: Most Buyers Don’t Know Their Water Quality

RO is only needed if TDS > 500 (like in borewell water). City/tap/municipal water with <300 TDS? RO is overkill. You're losing essential minerals and water.
