Yesterday Finance officials provided documents showing Madawaska Maliseet First Nation received $18 million from the tax agreements, the highest last year. BREAKING: the New Brunswick government is terminating tax-sharing agreements with 13 First Nations bands in the province. Seven agreements are subject to a one-year review and will expire next April. Six others include a 90-day notice period, and the province is giving that notice today to end the deals in July.
