Five days ago, a good friend of both of us called to chat. With my wife, first, for a good half hour or more, then he asked her to pass the phone on to me, and the two of us chatted for close to an hour. About life here, about how his wife and kids were coping ++

While on appreciation, had a visit from a cop, a health service professional and his assistant just now. My neighbor has a guest from Canada; the cop was armed with a long list of folks who had flown in from elsewhere.

A little note -- mostly for myself: Last evening, at Bangalore's Town Hall, I watched fired-up protestors; listened to various people -- activists, a JNU alum and a retired JNU professor, sundry celebs -- speaking to the crowd. All good.
