Last year, Russia, a permanent member of the Security Council and one of the founding members of the UN, flagrantly violated the UN's basic principles. The large-scale invasion of Ukraine is a violation of the UN Charter and of international law, which we all promised to honour. Russia must unconditionally withdraw from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders. The evidence of Russian atrocities, human rights violations and ferocious attacks on innocent civilians is overwhelming.
