Prince granted only a handful of interviews in the mid-1980s, but the few words he did offer publicly spoke volumes about the transformations that were happening in his personal and professional life. As his time with The Revolution drew to a close in 1986, Prince told Ebony magazine, "I feel that we're on the brink of something. It is going to be strict and wild and pretty."

Tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of Prince's second album, Prince. To mark the occasion, The Prince Estate and @warnerrecords are pleased to announce the surprise release of a previously unheard, solo acoustic demo recording of “I Feel for You.” The special, stripped-down demo recording captures a 20-year-old Prince in a raw, intimate moment, and begins with the sound of the artist pressing the record button on a cassette tape recorder and picking up an acoustic guitar.

The winter of 1981-1982 was a fiercely prolific time in Prince's career. Working under the pseudonym Jamie Starr, Prince brought @TheMorrisDay into the studio in January 1982 to work on The Time's second album, What Time Is It? On the album, the tracks would be credited to The Time's full live band, but the initial recordings were completed with just Morris Day on drums and Prince singing vocals and playing all the other instruments.
